At the moment I’m spending quite a lot of time trying to find a bag to use when I go back to university. It needs to be large, very hard-wearing and also attractive enough to take to saint martins. All of that on a small budget? I’m struggling. Particularly as most of the large bags that I’ve found don’t have any smaller interior pockets so that answering your phone/finding your purse/swiping your oystercard when it is in your bag becomes a long and ludicrously drawn-out process.
Here are some of the bags I like so far. They all have their faults, but maybe I shouldn’t expect perfection for under £100.

Jas MB
This offering from Jas MB is entertainingly named the ‘Student Lifeline Shopper’. Nice and big with exactly the right kind of look – canvas with leather details. It is definitely something I’m thinking about, but at £84, it’s pretty much at the top end of my budget.

I’ve always scorned the American Apparel gym bag as being too indie-kid, but their new ‘Acid Wash’ denim version (right) is pretty decent. And the other one on the left, the Rokit one is a complete bargain at £17.
