Ever since I saw his name on the label of a beautiful little coat with a velvet collar in Dover Street Market, I have lusted over Charles Anastase 1979. The whole little girl look that he does is so completely my thing.
Unfortunately, there is no sign of an a/w 08 collection anywhere. Perhaps he has decided to concentrate on being gorgeous and french and doing his lovely illustrations instead. Just to be safe I wanted to buy something of his in the sales in case I missed out for ever. At first I was lusting after this dress, but when I tried it on it turned out to be oddly huge. I’m not flatterning myself, the small was swimming on me. Obviously M. Anastase has some reason for this sizing but I looked like a six year old dressed up as Morticia Adams.
After that disappointment I was thinking about one of the dressed printed with Tenniel’s Alice in Wonderland illustrations, but they turned out to be not-very-nice cotton, not worth £200, at least not to me. I ended up getting an awesome little quilted jacket at Start. It basically looked like the one I had (and hated) when I was about six, and the buttons have cheeky lil’ smiley faces on it. Madness to buy a quilted jacket in July, but no matter.
That picture doesn’t really show it off to it’s full glory, resplendent with cute flowery lining, and I could only find one of it in pink at the show. Anyway, it makes me happy.
